Mum opening her presents on the morning of her birthday
I'm a bit late in posting this but here goes.
Monday 5th April was my mother-in-laws 70th birthday. As friends of my in-laws were flying back to UK on the day before, my father-in-law arranged a celebration on saturday 3rd April. There were, I think, about 25 of us. The venue was a favourte chinese restaurant of many of the attendees.
It was a fab night, thoroughly enjoyed by all. The photos below show how everyone is enjoying themselves.
I know, I know. Where are the photos of the fabulous food? Sorry, we were to busy eating & enjoying ourselves and before I new it the food was finished and I'd not had time to photograph any of it
I must tell you though that Dawn was supposed to be celebrating her birthday in the UK. This will now prove how considerate, thoughtful & amazing my in-laws actually are.
Due to my unfortunate illness earlier in the year, my in-law's decided they should be with us in Spain to help out. Not that there is a great deal they can actually do, but they decided to give my husband a break by doing a lot of the trips with me back & forth for chemo/radiotherapy treatment.
I'm eternally grateful to them for this & all they have done in the past too. I bet there's not many people out there who's in-law's would do the same.
How lucky am I?
Apologies to my sister-in-law, Tracey. She was planning a surprise party for her mum & had to phone everyone to cancel.
Unfortunately, Tracey was unable to be with us for the birthday celebrations. However, she did visit briefly in March & it was great to see her too.

Such a lovely set of photographs. You definitely have a great MIL - there is no doubting that. I am sure the get together was a great tonic for you.
Awh, happy birthdaY! Nice photo essay :-)
Hello!
First time visitor. You caught my eye on Use Real Butter blog when you wrote you live in Spain. The Chimichurri recipe sounds delicious! I was going through an old collection of Bon Appetit magazine (getting rid of clutter, yes!) when I read an article on Costa Brava, Spain. I always thought about going to live in a foreign country, perhaps Asia or South America, but now Spain is really interesting. I will be looking to teach English there when time comes to move. I'm assuming Malaga has tropical weather, since it is so close to Africa. Thanks for any tips you might have.
Twas a great night.Fran and Mike x
