Happy 70th to the best MIL (mother-in-law) in the world

Mum opening her presents on the morning of her birthday

I'm a bit late in posting this but here goes.

Monday 5th April was my mother-in-laws 70th birthday. As friends of my in-laws were flying back to UK on the day before, my father-in-law arranged a celebration on saturday 3rd April. There were, I think, about 25 of us. The venue was a favourte chinese restaurant of many of the attendees.

It was a fab night, thoroughly enjoyed by all. The photos below show how everyone is enjoying themselves.

My father-in-law, Mike, looking suspiciously asleep in the restaurant!

Our friend, Mike, looking suspiciously like Rick Stein! (must be the drink)

Most of the group got into this shot

My fabulous MIL (Dawn)

Our great friends (my adopted mum & dad) & Amy's grandparents, Mike & Fran

Last, but definitely not least, my amazing husband Barry. Enjoying a glass of wine as usual LOL

I know, I know. Where are the photos of the fabulous food? Sorry, we were to busy eating & enjoying ourselves and before I new it the food was finished and I'd not had time to photograph any of it .

I must tell you though that Dawn was supposed to be celebrating her birthday in the UK. This will now prove how considerate, thoughtful & amazing my in-laws actually are.

Due to my unfortunate illness earlier in the year, my in-law's decided they should be with us in Spain to help out. Not that there is a great deal they can actually do, but they decided to give my husband a break by doing a lot of the trips with me back & forth for chemo/radiotherapy treatment.

I'm eternally grateful to them for this & all they have done in the past too. I bet there's not many people out there who's in-law's would do the same.

How lucky am I?

Apologies to my sister-in-law, Tracey. She was planning a surprise party for her mum & had to phone everyone to cancel.

Unfortunately, Tracey was unable to be with us for the birthday celebrations. However, she did visit briefly in March & it was great to see her too.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was the first birthday of my blog. It was a busy day and unfortunately I didn't have time to post. So a belated happy birthday it is LOL.

Well my first year has been a happy experience. I've learned a lot about the internet, but still not totally computer literate yet.

I've met lots of interesting people & have also gained quite a few friends. Unfortunately, I've not met anyone in person but hopefully I will one day.

I'd like to thank all those who have helped with queries regarding blogging, recipes, photography and many more issues too.

My biggest thanks goes out to all my followers. Especially being patient with me so far this year not being able to post much due to my illness.

However, things are improving and whilst I have been cooking & producing new recipes, I've had so little time to post them.

Anyway, in the next few days I'll be posting this month's interview, so keep an eye out for it.

Thank you to one & all & here's to another year ahead; cheers.
